Through participation, students gain hands-on experience in concert production—managing lighting, sound, video, and stage operations for a real concert on their campus—while also learning key business concepts like marketing and event planning.

THE PROCESS

Identify students for the various areas listed below.

Gather the Business and Marketing team to begin working on strategy, branding, advertising, and promotion.

Receive hands-on training in lighting, sound, video, stage management and more.

Take full control of show production—running every technical and backstage element like true pros!

Keep 100% of all profit generated—Jam Session is not only a learning experience, but also a real fundraiser for your school or program!
Students are plugged into various roles on concert day and receive the ultimate hands-on learning experience. Students are grouped into the following areas:

Stage Crew
Students in the Stage Crew will be responsible for setting up and breaking down equipment, managing backstage operations, and ensuring the show runs smoothly from behind the scenes. They’ll gain hands-on experience with lighting, sound, and stage management while playing a key role in bringing the concert to life.

Sound Crew
Students in the Sound Crew will handle microphones, speakers, and audio levels to ensure clear, high-quality sound throughout the concert. They'll learn the basics of live sound engineering and work closely with performers.

Show Management
Students in Show Management will oversee the flow of the event, making sure everything stays on schedule and runs smoothly from start to finish. They'll coordinate with all crews, communicate with performers, manage hospitality for the band, and handle any last-minute changes like true professionals.

Lighting Crew
Students in the Lighting Crew will design and operate lighting to enhance the concert's mood and energy. They'll learn how to use professional lighting equipment and work closely with a professional lighting designer to create an unforgettable show experience.

Video Crew
Students in the Video Crew will use cameras to film the concert and behind-the-scenes action, while the video producer manages live footage displayed on the LED wall using a camera switcher. They'll learn the fundamentals of filming, directing shots, and operating live video equipment for a professional production experience.

Business & Marketing
Students in the Business and Marketing team will create promotional strategies, manage ticket sales, and secure sponsorships to support the event. They'll gain real-world experience in marketing, budgeting, and building a brand while driving excitement and attendance for the concert.
