How much does the RNT+ 5-Day Experience Camp cost?​

​

Absolutely nothing. All expenses, including lodging, meals, training, and entertainment are covered for all experience attendees. If accepted, you will only be required to provide your own travel to and from the experience camp location (University of North Alabama | Entertainment Industry & School of the Arts Campus in Florence, AL).

What will we be doing for 5 days?​

​

The experience camp will be jammed packed with exciting hands-on activities that focus on various aspects of the entertainment, hospitality, and tourism industries. You will work alongside industry professionals to gain experience and insight into careers you may have never dreamed existed.  All training and experiences build up to an epic music event that you will help execute! Whether it's stage management, production, sound engineering, or hospitality, there will be a role just for you.

What is The Department of Entertainment Industry?

​

The University of North Alabama Department of Entertainment Industry is part of the College of Arts, Sciences, and Engineering, and aims to prepare students for professional careers in the increasingly diverse entertainment industry. The mission of the department is to prepare students for professional careers in the entertainment industry through quality instruction, development and mentoring. A cornerstone in this mission is to give students a broad background to enter the diverse, global workplace of private industry, entrepreneurship and independent contracting. The department values hands-on learning, and developing well trained industry practitioners, in addition to broader conceptual approaches leading to professional or graduate school. The department is located in Downtown Florence on Tombigbee Street.  This facility houses departmental and faculty offices, two recording studios, a MIDI lab, classrooms and a 450-capacity fully outfitted performance venue.

Who can apply for this exciting opportunity?​

​

All Alabama students in grades 9-12 are invited to apply for the RNT+ 5-Day Experience camp. Only 30 applicants will be selected for the exclusive honor of attending the RNT+ 5-Day Experience camp. 

​

All Alabama high school graduates (including class of 2024 seniors) are invited to apply to become camp leaders. Only 6 camp leaders will be selected. Click HERE to apply.

How can I apply for the RNT+ 5-Day Experience camp?

​

Simply click HERE and complete the online application. You will be asked to provide basic contact information, two recommendation letters (one from a school representative, one from a mentor, friend, or colleague), and a short explanation of why you are interested in this opportunity.

​

Where will I be staying for 5 days?

​

The University of North Alabama Housing & Residence Life Resident Halls are located right on the University of North Alabama campus. Experience attendees will stay two to a dorm throughout the duration of the RNT+ 5-Day Experience Camp. Attendees must provide all linens for the resident halls. Rooms will be assigned upon acceptance. 

​

When will I know if I am selected?

​

The deadline to apply is Saturday, April 13th at midnight CT. Selected attendees will be notified by Thursday, May 30th.

Will I get to explore the rich music history The Shoals has to offer?

​
