FAQ'S:

How do I sign up?
It's easy! First, you'll need permission from your Career Coach, teacher, or authorized school personnel to participate. Once you've got the green light, complete the Google Form linked above and submit all required information and paperwork.

What will I actually be doing?
Forget sitting around and watching! You'll work alongside our Reach and Teach staff in the crew you selected on your application. You'll receive training, get hands-on experience with professional equipment, and learn what it takes to pull off a live show. Who knows? You might even get to run the show yourself!

How much does it cost?
Absolutely FREE! You get real-world industry experience without spending a dime on the program. You'll just be responsible for your own transportation.
Do I need any experience?
Nope! Whether you're already familiar with production equipment or have never touched a soundboard in your life, you're welcome to apply! We're looking for students who are eager to learn, try new things, and have fun.
What career areas can I explore?
There's a lot more to entertainment than being on stage! Depending on the opportunities available, you could explore lighting, audio production, videography, stage management, hospitality, logistics, and more!
Do I get to choose what crew I work with?
You sure do! On your application, you'll rank the areas you're most interested in. We'll do our best to place you in a crew that matches your interests, but placements depend on availability and the needs of each event.
Will I have to miss school?
Possibly! Some opportunities may take place during regular school hours. That's why you'll need approval from your Career Coach, teacher, or authorized school personnel before participating. We'll also provide documentation verifying your participation that you can submit to your school. Your school will determine whether your absence is excused. We will provide you with a Pass upon completion of the job shadow experience.
What should I wear?
Dress comfortably and be ready to work! We recommend comfortable clothes and require closed-toe shoes. Since you'll be working in a real production environment, you'll want to wear something you can move around in. Additional dress requirements may be provided before your event. We will provide you with a lanyard so everyone knows you're a part of the crew!
How long does the job shadow last?
It depends on the event! You'll receive the schedule and expectations before your experience, but mostly will be all day.
Will I be working with real entertainment professionals?
YES! You'll have the opportunity to learn directly from Reach and Teach staff who have experience in live entertainment and event production. This is your chance to ask questions, make connections, and discover what working in the industry is really like!
Am I guaranteed a spot if I apply?
Not necessarily! Space is limited, and placements depend on crew availability, event needs, and completed paperwork. We'll contact you with additional information if you're selected for an opportunity.
What if I'm shy or nervous about trying something new?
That's totally okay! You don't have to be outgoing or know everything to participate. Our team is here to help you learn, build confidence, and step outside your comfort zone.
Will I get to meet the band or performers?
Maybe! Depending on your assigned crew and the event schedule, you could have opportunities to interact with artists and other entertainment professionals. However, meet-and-greets and artist interactions aren't guaranteed.
What's the biggest perk of participating?
You'll walk away with more than just a fun day! You'll gain real-world experience, explore potential careers, make professional connections, and build skills that could help you in college, future internships, or your first job. Plus, you'll get to say you helped bring a live show to life!
